Uma Arora is an organizational development professional passionate about bringing learning agility in individual and organizational change initiatives. She works with large and mid-­‐sized clients in change facilitation, performance, customer intimacy, diversity, executive coaching & helping startups build vision and culture. She is the founder and Chief Facilitator of Idam Learning, an organization focused on Change and leadership development. She is the recipient of ‘Distinguished Trainer Award’ in Asia Pacific given by world HRD Congress in August 2013.

Prior to starting Idam Learning, Uma worked with organizations such as Daksh (a part of IBM), Digital, Sylvan Prometric and Aptech. She has had the experience of leading high performing teams while managing diverse roles that ranged from new business launches, setting up franchise networks and country operations management, setting up Talent resourcing function to leading leadership development function of a large organization. Some of her recent experiences in organizational consulting include:

  • A large scale change intervention for a multinational East European Ship Management Company across multiple cultures and locations in Europe and Asia. This included assessment and coaching of top X team
  • Leadership development and Coaching of senior executives across cultures for an Airline Company in Maldives. Executive coaching of C-level executives for a Telecom Company
  • Working with management to help them develop vision, mission values framework for a number of start up companies in the growth phase

Uma is an accredited MBTI® Trainer and a Certified Trainer for Facet 5 (a Psychometric tool based on big 5 factors). She has certification from SHL to design and deliver Assessment centres. She has certifications in “Building leadership through Appreciative Inquiry” and “Organization Development theories and practices” from National Training laboratory in the United States. She has been trained in change management by Edgar Schein. Uma is also certified in Spiral Dynamics, which is a tool for understanding individual and organizational growth. She has certification from ‘Centre for Creative Leadership’ on ‘Leadership Coaching’ and ‘Leadership Beyond Boundaries’. She has integrated her understanding of applied Behavior Sciences with hands on experience of managing operations and businesses leading to interdisciplinary, and result-oriented approach to her training and coaching. Her predominant style and methodology is facilitative, using the Appreciative Inquiry approach. She uses psychometric tools such as MBTI®, FIRO-B®, Career Anchor, 360°assessments, Facet-5 and many other diagnostic tools for individual and organizational assessments. She regularly trains corporate executives in building capacity in BEI skills.

She has presented papers and concepts in several national and international forums and is a guest faculty for S.P. Jain College of Management @ Mumbai. She holds a Post Graduate degree in Chemistry, an MBA degree from Faculty of Management Studies, India and a Degree in Law from Delhi University, India Uma sees herself as a learning partner and believes in challenging her belief system constantly thereby recreating herself with every experience.
